Faulty test :(

2 days ago I took a first response test and had a half line show up so thought maybe my HCG was low so I waited and tested again today and nothing at all :( I'm 12DPO so I think I'm out this month :( first month trying for my second child and feel so disappointed. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
