Mental health help for spouse

Sarah

Hi mamas, I’m hoping this can be a no judgement space as I’m so nervous reaching out for help for this.

My husband has always seemed to be a little on the anxious/depressed side of things. A couple years back his job really seemed to change things. It was very demanding, he worked all of the time and ever since he’s seemed really anxious and depressed.

Now we have an 8 month old and between raising her, having a healthy marriage, being happy myself and trying to navigate his mental health is becoming so much. I’ve just been crying all morning as a release from this stress.

He doesn’t have much of a relationship with his doctor and I think that’s a big blocker for him. We’ve talked about going to his doctor so much and every time he’s so open to it and knows he needs some help but months go by and he never gets there.

Have any of you been in this boat? I’m stuck between trying to be supportive from the sidelines and let him come to this on his own and then on the other hand I’m just so desperate for him to get help. I battled some

Tough PPD and PPA post birth so I know how hard it is to reach out for help but I did and it was so important for me.

Any advice or words of encouragement is so welcomed. Again please be kind, I’m not in a good place for harsh judgements on this topics.
