Ready for another?

Hi guys! So my little man just turned 8 months yesterday (I can’t believe how fast time has went!) and I’ve recently been thinking about having another baby. My question for those of you who have multiple, how did you know you were ready for another baby? How far apart did you wait? A big reason I’d like to start trying again is because it took a long time for me to get pregnant with Jace, and I’m afraid it’ll take forever again. Just looking for some perspective :)

I don’t have multiple but my husband and I wanted to start trying when our baby was around 6m-1 year. It took us a year to get pregnant with our first so part of us wanted to start trying early or wait til our baby turned 1. We just didn’t know how long it would take for the next one. But our baby just turned 8m and I just found out we’re expecting again! They will be about 16m apart. I initially wanted a larger age gap but as soon as I had Adam I wanted him to have a sibling close in age.

My first will be 5 in august and the 2nd baby is 8 months on Sunday. I waited purposely because once my first son hit 2 years old he was a manic and has been every since. I was extremely sick during this second pregnancy so I was so happy my son was 3 going on 4 to kinda be a bit more independent and less clingy. I don’t know what I would’ve done being pregnant and having to have a 2 year old or younger toddler on my hip. Everyone is different though and you do what you want and what’s best for your family. I wanted to wait a year to give my body that time to heal. Plus my bc prescription was only for a year. Once I ran out, we officially started trying again. It took 7 cycles the 2nd time to conceive (exactly a year of trying for our first) and my two are 2 years, 3 months apart.

My first turned 3 about 2 months after my October baby was born, and I think that age gap is perfect. He was able to understand that his sister needed attention, didn’t get too jealous about it, understood to be very gentle with her and a plus was I had him potty trained at 2 1/2 so we only have 1 in diapers. I’m excited for when she can run around with him he’s going to love it so much more. But definitely not having anymore 😅 I’m losing my mind most days dealing with a toddler not wanting to listen and a clingy baby but we’re getting through it lol

I had my first November 2018. We thought the same thing as you as it took us awhile to get pregnant with our first. However.... I got pregnant with our second in December 2019. They are 22 months apart and I love it but also wish I had waited abit too as I feel like I missed out on my first daughters 2 year of life abit because of having a newborn. Don’t get me wrong they are adorable together now but 2 under 2 is no joke. 🤪🤪

I have a 4 year old and 3 year old (they’re 14 months apart) and a 8 month old. Tubes tied no more for me!!
With the 2nd and 3rd, I just went with when I felt ready for another.

My girls are almost 18 months apart. Took 4 years of trying for the first so I had the same thought that it would take a long time if it ever happened again... Little did I know, happy accident! Haha the adjustment period is hard. The age gap is hard some times cause both ages really need help with a lot even though I thought my toddler was so independent. But in like 2 or 3 years I think it will be amazing them being close in age.

Our second was born in October. We wanted to wait until our first was 3 to start trying but ended up getting pregnant unexpectedly when she was almost 2. I think the age difference is nice. The beginning was a really hard adjustment because our toddler suddenly wanted to potty train, have a big girl bed and began to test her independence. It totally depends on your situation and how you think you’ll be able to manage it. Plenty of women do it, so go for it if you want! I’m torn on having a third and if so, when to try. I’ve accepted that the next 7-10 years will probably just be chaos mixed with being exhausted 🤷🏻‍♀️.
