Dry vagina after kids?

Question

Anyone else have dry vagina issues after having a child? I’m 16 mos post partum and I’m dry as hell usually a week before my period i get so dry even wiping after using the restroom hurts my OBGYN says it’s “PMS” and the only way to treat it is birth control. Which I feel is bullshit I feel most OBGYNs push BC as a cure all for anything and it’s not? Is my vagina just broken? Is there any special tests I should be asking for or medications to help?

Usually dryness is associated with estrogen levels… I know there’s is a vaginal estrogen cream that a lot of OB/GYNs prescribe for people who have issues with those levels after delivering. I’d definitely suggest asking for a second opinion from another doctor

Mine was like this for a while after my first and then it went back to normal and now I’m pregnant again 🙃

Yes this happened to me. It's definitely not just a PMS symptom! I got estrogen suppositories and they worked great until my hormones evened out and went back to normal.
