Can the contraction monitor pick up contractions

If you don’t really have a bump?

I’m 24+1 and don’t have a bump yet but have been having irregular but frequent contractions for an hour now (9 in the last hour ranging from 3-15 minutes apart).

I have a history of premature delivery (two preemies) but not sure if the monitors will even pick it up. They struggled to while in labor with my last baby because my bump was too small and I was 6 weeks further then. The nurses kept complaining they couldn’t find a “sweet spot” to catch them because it wasn’t big enough.

Just not sure if it’s worth going in when the contractions are mild, just uncomfortable, and I’m not certain they’ll even see them.

No bleeding, no leaking fluids. Laying down and trying to hydrate.
