Do you have a good core group of clientele to keep you afloat until you can build your business? If so it is actually pretty easy! I am a dog groomer and opened my own shop in October! It was a pretty easy transition because almost all my clients followed me (most of them have been with me for almost 15 years so I knew it wouldn’t be an issue 😂)
It was a little expensive right at first buying a tub and table and dryer and paying for plumbing to hook up the tub and the business license and whatnot but ITS SO WORTH IT TO WORK FOR YOURSELF!! I say go for it 😊 good luck hun!

Step 1: find a location. 
Consider you will need a months rent, security and last when signing a lease for a store. Depends on ur landlord and what they require. Exactly like renting a apartment. 
If ur looking to go cheap.... get already existing salon. With chairs or some sort of equipment already their. Or u will need to bring your own. 
Step 2: create an LLC if u wanna get professional about ur location and hire people.. creating an LLC can cost 100-200$
Step 3: open ur store it is literally that simple. Don’t let anybody tell u shit. People base things judged off their capabilities. Not yours. 
If someone says you can’t. It’s cause they feel they can’t.

Having a salon can pay for it self.. u rent chairs out to other people.. u can set up 4 chairs and rent 3 and keep one for yourself. You can charge some 200-500$ a chair for the month... they would be paying ur rent basically.. and u can profit more from ur own clientele 
It cost 15$ to advertise online with Facebook or google... it’s free to put ur location on the map in google....
So when people search “salon” yours will appear.

It is really expensive to start from scratch. Maybe look for existing spaces to rent that are already set up as salons so that you don’t have to incur the expense of doing a build-out to make a space into a salon. You’ll still need to purchase all supplies such as product, towels, color, etc. not to mention a computer system to track appointments, payroll, taxes, etc. New businesses often take several years to become profitable. You really should have money in the bank to live off of while you are building your business. Maybe look for a partner or financial backer to get you started.

Hm, with my experience starting small businesses, start with as little cost as possible. If it's going to be successful you'll be able to save up the money to take it to the next level. 
Start small, by doing hair appointments somewhere like your home/clients homes, and as you get more business, put the profits back into the business, get more supplies to do more stuff or eventually your own space if you find that necessary by then. 
Everything is pretty hard, in my experience, but you just have to resolve to work at it slowly over time, chipping away just a bit per day. You gotta take what people call "failure" and adapt. Being adaptable is an important trait for survival, for achieving anything, and for maturity, and peace. 
Good luck, I am not sure if it'll be a hard road or not, but the experience of trying may be very valuable. 💙
