Are those school policies about hairstyles racist?
My boy is mixed race and he wanted to have cornrows so I took him to get some. When he went to school with it yesterday he got told by 3 different teachers that he will have to remove them, because they don't adhere to school policies. I do agree that the school policy states that cornrows aren't allowed, I believe that this is racist and discriminatory as it is a big part of black culture. He went back to school still with his cornrows today, because he says that there are some white boys with ponytails and if they are allowed then so should he be.
This are all policies from his school they have changed over the years.
