Two year old has a strong New York accent?

Ok so I’m wondering if this a temporary thing or if this is just how he will always talk

He has a pretty significant speech delay, and really just started talking recently. He also has been in speech therapy 4 times a week for close to a year, so lots of speech/ language issues so I’m wondering if this is another language issue.

He says more- “mmmAWW”

Pool- “pooWAL”

Ball- “BAWWAL”

Dog- “dawwwg”

Those are some examples.

Ok so we do live in New York (Long Island) so obviously he will have some sort of accent I guess BUT his is like wayyyyyover exaggerated, not like a typical ny way of speaking. Like people even comment like wow he has a strong accent. We have family mostly Brooklyn and Staten island and they even comment on how heavy it is

Is this typical for a newly speaking toddler to have such an exaggerated accent? Or is this another language/speech issue?
