Perineal stitches question

Baby was born early Sunday morning and I was discharged from the hospital Monday afternoon. During birth I tore in two places and had to have stitches placed.

It has been a few days now and they still hurt quite a bit and I’m not bleeding a lot but whenever I am patting the area dry it seems like there is blood coming off the stitches like they are the ones bleeding and there is a slight smell. Is this normal?

Any suggestions on helping the healing process would be greatly appreciated!
