Constipated baby?

Any tips or tricks to help a constipated 6 week old? He seems to be having trouble pooping. My pediatrician recommended 1oz apple juice and 1oz water mixed. And although I do fully trust him that just sounds crazy to give a newborn and makes me anxious.

Seems odd to me, but what do I know? I lay my son on his stomach over my thighs and rub is back. I also bed his hips and knees up and down and bicycle his legs, to help him pass gas. Those help my son a lot! Good luck!

I would add a tablespoon of organic prune juice in my baby’s formula and it usually did the trick!

We’ve also ad the same issue. Our pediatrician said to take her temperature rectally a few times (over a few hours timeframe) and if that doesn’t work use a pediatric suppository. Our daughter has gone a week without pooping so that’s when they said to use the suppository

Dark karo syrup is what my ped recommends. Also if you have a rectal thermometer that can help stimulate their bowels as well.
