When did you stop asking others to wash their hands when visiting/touching baby?

My son is 5 months old. Just curious.

I’ll never stop asking? I feel like you wash up when you come to my home, and it’s all fine. Doesn’t matter if baby is newborn, or 12 years old, you wash your hands when you arrive to someone else’s home. Otherwise, I stopped washing mine when baby started crawling and rolling around on the floor, putting everything in her mouth, whatever.

We almost never have visitors but we still expect people to sanitize their hands when they walk through the door.  No one seems to mind much though and the sanitizer is on a table right next to the door as well as extra masks.  Our son is 21 months old but I also have a daughter (16) with an immunodeficiency disorder so we’ve always asked that people take extra precautions when coming to our home.

With COVID, everyone’s always just been washing their hands before holding our baby even if we forget to ask.
But once she got her first set of shots, I wasn’t too worried about hand washing as much!

With our first we stopped asking when he was scooting around on the floor and putting everything in his mouth (around 5 months). Most people still washed their hands anyway as it was kind of a habit.
My daughter was born in February so we’ve actually never had to ask anyone as they all do it automatically because of COVID. I assume they’ll keep doing it for a while. She’s currently 4 months. If they didn’t I would ask them to as long as covid was around as currently kids can’t get vaccinated.

So with my first, it was about the time he was crawling all over the floor and mouthing things. 
With my second it was like week 2 lol. Try keeping a toddlers hands clean when you've got a newborn lmao. Besides, my family will naturally wash their hands if they're dirty or they've been somewhere less clean. Otherwise, we've never had issues.
