Why do fully vaccinated people still need to wear masks on airplanes?

Is there a scientific reason for this?

Because the vaccine doesn’t 100% protect you from getting COVID and doesn’t keep you from spreading it to other.
The COVID vaccine, like the flu shot, lessens your chance of getting COVID and will give you far less and severe side effects if you do get it, but it’s not 100% effective.
The mask is to protect you and others from spreading it.
If you have the vaccine it’s very possible to still get COVID but have no symptoms and not even know it, therefore you’re able to spread it to others without knowing.

Because lots of people lie about being vaccinated. Since they can’t confirm it it’s just easier to have everyone wear a mask so they know that those that absolutely should be, are.

And there are far too many people lying about being vaccinated for me to feel comfortable flying maskless.

Until they actually start requiring confirmation of vaccine status before getting a plane (which probably isn’t going to happen even though it should) everybody should have to wear them. Otherwise antivaxxers will just lie about being vaccinated so they don’t have to.

My Aunt got fully vaccinated and died of covid. It’s not 100% so please wear your mask.

There’s no scientific reason for anyone to wear a mask. The virus is too small and goes right through.
