It depends on the person, people who are polyamorous can certainly love more than one person at a time, I’m not poly & neither is my husband so for us it would be no, it would be a betrayal of our monogamous relationship. Sometimes couples can start out monogamous but then realize they would rather have an open relationship & then they would need to agree on what they’re ok with. If you’re currently in a committed relationship but you find yourself falling for someone new it’s time to have a conversation with the person you’re currently with.

I think if you’re in a committed relationship and you fall in love with someone else, you were doing something wrong and disloyal to begin with 
You don’t just “fall in love” overnight. Those feelings develop when you nurture that inappropriate relationship outside of the one you are in 
 So it’s best to leave the original relationship because you are being disloyal 
If you truly loved the person you were in a relationship with, you wouldn’t even put yourself in an ongoing situation to fall in love with someone else 
However, if you’re dating, and not committed to anyone specifically, I absolutely believe you can fall for two people. Because you’re growing connections with both people, strong feelings can develop for both.
