When did you tell your family?

How early is appropriate to tell your immediate family that you’re pregnant? Did you wait until the 12 week point for everyone or make exceptions?

We told our parents/siblings after our first ultrasound to confirm a heartbeat (8 weeks). We aren’t telling anyone else/posting anywhere until we get out NIPT (genetic/gender) results back which will be around week 14. We aren’t in a rush to tell anyone. We’re kinda enjoying our privacy right now and I love that I’m not getting any unsolicited advice (other than my mother 😂).

I told my parents the day after I tested positive, I need to be monitored closely in early pregnancy and I knew they’d be suspicious with me leaving the house so often lol

I told my parents and sister the day i found out. My mom said she told people she was pregnant before 12 weeks if they were someone she would want to know or be ok with knowing of a miscarriage. I’ve told a lot of my friends and both me and my partners parents. After my ultrasound I’m going to tell most of my family members but not put on social media till 12 weeks. I think it all just depends on the person, I just am impatient and want to tell everyone😂

We plan on waiting till at least 8 weeks. We want to get our first ultrasound to confirm pregnancy and make sure everything looks good then tell our immediate family
