Maple syrup and box elder/maple allergy??

Question

My daughter is mildly allergic to box elder/maple trees which I’m assuming is just from the pollen?? But would that mean she’s allergic to maple syrup as well? Sorry if this is a dumb question

I think it depends on her allergy. I have OAS (oral allergy syndrome) so I’m allergic to birch pollen and can’t eat many fresh fruits (apples, pears, peaches, etc) because my body recognizes the enzymes in those fruits as birch pollen and reacts accordingly. But if you cook those same fruits it destroys the particular enzyme and I can eat them no problem. Maybe her allergy would be similar since maple syrup is boiled as part of the refinement process? I don’t think anyone can tell you definitively.

My fiance can eat mangos but if he gets the juice on the ourside of his mouth he gets a rash from it. So it could be similar to that possibly
