I had a best friend who had moved abroad and got married. She married a man who was really controlling and abusive (it’s what she said to me) She finally moved to the UK where I am after years of us just being able to talk online at the time. I’d flown out to her a couple times but that’s it. And as soon as she arrived she cut me out completely. 10 years later I contacted her and she told me she so badly wanted to contact me but her husband told her to cut me off and that’s why she disappeared. When we started talking again she was telling me how awful her marriage was and she was ready to leave. But now suddenly she’s really happy. Says he’s changed. And wants me to hang out with them. Even though her husband was the reason she apparently cut me off.

What do you guys think? I struggle to understand how suddenly NOW things are good…. And why she couldn’t have found a way to contact me over 10 years…..
