Anyone else’s babies/toddlers do the same?
I have an almost 15month old baby and his speech just confuses me. He started sayin mama, then it went away, said dada, went away, said mama again, and now not as much. He babbles alllllll the time, has come close to saying No twice, said baba once. Shakes his head no, makes eye contact, responds appropriately to us laughing, understands no, points to what he wants and shows me his toys, understands everything I ask him. Just verbally it confuses me. He also says hi very drawn out. He’s waved a handful of times but not all the time. He smiles at strangers and talks to them with his babble. He will play and chase other kids sometimes.
I just don’t want to be allowing things that need to be fixed or improved, being brushed off you know?
I don’t have any friends to bounce off of, my closest friends kids have developmental delays, autism and Down syndrome so they have their own milestones and schedule obviously. I haven’t dealt with babies in a while either so idk what is and isn’t normal.
My baby goes to those little gym like classes so physically he’s very advanced as far as walking, running, climbing, walking backwards, etc and since he’s started these classes I feel like speech has taken a back burner because he’s so occupied.
I just want to know if this is normal to if I need to get some speech therapy lined up or something?
I’m a FTM and live in a town very small where I don’t know anyone so google has unfortunately become my best friend and worst nightmare because everything I google says autism, autism, autism, red flags, red flag, autism and it’s driving me crazy!!!!
Please help an overthinking mama 😔😭
