Did Sex really help?

Question

I'm due tomorrow. I'm only 70% effaced and my Dr is strongly encouraging me to not get induced because of how thick my cervix is. She said it's basically a guarantee I'll end up in a C Section, even if she does Cervadil.
Did sex really help you thin out? 
Im having a really hard time coping mentally, I just cry all the time.

At 38 2 i was 4 cm dilated, 70% effaced and had been dilated for 3 weeks with on and off contractions. Had sex with my husband and within 12 hours was 9cm dilated. We had our baby that day!

At 39 weeks I was 1cm dilated, 80% effaced. The vaginal side of my cervix was thin and soft but the internal was still thick. I had already scheduled an induction for the next day 39wk 1day(Thursday) . At my 39 week appointment we did a membrane sweep. I had already been having irregular contractions and after my membrane sweep walking and swimming that day by that night I was contracting regularly and fairly strong. I held off until the next day. We were scheduled to go in at 5p but got there at 1 since my contractions had continued. 
We got there and I was only at a 2, still thick internal cervix. And my contractions slowed. I did doses of cytotec (oral med to help ripen cervix) over night. The next morning(Friday) I was still only 2. We did foley bulb placement and more cytotec for the next 12hours. When we took the foley bulb out I was at 4cm and internal cervix was softer. We did cervadil over night (12hours). Saturday Am I was then at 5cm and my cervix was ripe and ready for pitocin! 
We started pitocin at 10am, by 4p I was 6cm and we broke my water, just after 5p I got my epidural, at 8p I was 7cm and at 10:45 I was complete! Had my baby girl vaginally at 1:39am. 
I got frustrated by Friday afternoon that I was forcing my body. My provider explained that in first time moms we have to be very patient with our body’s especially if we are inducing (and at 39wk). It took time to get me to dilate to 5cm but then my labor went quickly. I was afraid to end up in c section but I am thankful I had very patient providers that did multiple interventions to help ripen and dilate my cervix.  
Sex can help in 2 ways orgasim stimulates the release of oxytocin to start contractions and semen can help ripen cervix and stimulate release of prostaglandins that ripen cervix as well.

Sex didn’t help but that’s silly of your doctor. While you can end up with a c-section, it doesn’t mean you will.
I was 50% effaced and once they started meds to help me out, I was 70% within a couple hours. I was in labor for maybe 5 hours and then had my baby girl.
