I am looking to get my Associates in nursing, then bridge over to my Bachelors. My end goal is to be a Certified Nurse midwife. I have been a CNA for eight years and have experience in many different settings. I have 3 programs that are options and need help deciding which I should choose. There are pros and cons to each.

Option 1: Community College A

Pros:

-Inexpensive

-Can sit for LPN boards after first year of the program, then RN after the second

-Have all but 13 credit hours of pre reqs, which I can obtain in one semester.

Cons:

-An hour commute each way (possibly more for clinicals)

-Already missed the deadline for the 2022 start date, so wouldn't be able to start until Spring of 2023.

-The entire class from the other campus failed last semester, which imo reflects poorly on the school.

-NCLEX pass rate isn't great.

Option 2: Community College B

Pros:

-Has a partnership with one of the local universities so I could be working towards my BSN at the same time as my ADN

-Inexpensive, but more expensive than Option 1

-Decent NCLEX pass rate

Cons:

-An hour or more commute each way

-Pre reqs are different so only one of my previous classes counts towards the program.

-Won't be able to start until 2023

Option 3: Rasmussen

Pros:

-5 minutes from my house

- Can start as early as October and be done in 2 years, start to finish

-Clinicals would be at the hospital I work in

-Only requirement to get in is a good TEAS score

-Pre reqs are all self paced, which I excel at.

Cons:

-Way more expensive than Community College. (Although I do get a 15% discount bc of my work place)

-Rasmussen doesn't have a very good reputation.

All three programs are accredited.
