Postpartum Underwear

My first baby is due July 7th and I'm trying to get opinions on postpartum underwear. I have heard a lot about always discreet boutique, but looking for opinions on best options. I also have to have a c-section, any input helps!

For right after the birth do yourself a favour and get Depends. You’ll need them for the first few days and it’s so much easier than giant pads. After that, regular cotton underwear in a size larger than you usually wear. Get the cheap ones that come in a pack of 4 from Walmart so if you wreck them it won’t matter.

I like Depends Silhouette more than Always Discreet because I don’t like fragrance. Also, do yourself a favor and buy a box (or 2) of these Medline abdominal pads to put over your incision so it doesn’t rub on the underwear, plus it helps to keep it clean and absorb extra moisture. Once you’re not bleeding as much and you want to wear regular underwear with a smaller pad I LOVE the Innersy high waisted postpartum underwear on Amazon. They’re really soft and they don’t have any seams near your incision.

I had a csection and these were the best. I hated the underwear the hospital gave me. No support and felt like the pad was gonna fall out. The first few days I put the super large pad in the depends then after that when the bleeding slowed down I didn’t put a pad in. Seriously the best thing and didn’t bother my incision.

I know they’re not the sexiest things in the world to wear but I loved these because they were disposable, didn’t leak and I didn’t have to buy or wear underwear with a maxi maternity pad in it for it only to leak and stain things. Felt more hygienic because I could change it often and just get rid of it.

I tried a bunch of brands and finally just bought the ones the hospital had. They were the softest and most absorbent in my opinion.

I just grabbed a giant stack of the awful ones they had at the hospital. They look like shit but they were comfortable on the incision and didnt compress any tender bits. After about 2 weeks i could wear my regular undies, just none that had tighter elastic at the waist.

I found the depends more comfortable than the always brand ... but both worked ... I put a regular pad inside the diaper and I felt totally secure.
