Stinging glands by the ears

OK so my husband thinks I am totally weird because sometimes I get that weird stinging sensation by the glands on my throat close to my ears. You know, the ones that sting when you eat certain things (or think about eating them, typically sour things).

Apparently he has never, EVER felt this sensation and now I am some kind of alien to him.

Surely I'm not the only one?!
