My boyfriend and I thought about this. Could we give each other consent before hand to have sex while drunk? But never get black out drunk..so we’d still be aware of everything happening. But we just don’t know and we wanna be safe…So we don’t try it.

Just make sure there's a clear line you guys won't forget while drunk. Also, if birth control is something you're worried about, use a secondary method besides the obvious pull out or condoms methods cause those are difficult to do right drunk. So, it'll take a tiny bit of planning ahead, but you can totally have safe, consensual sex while inebriated.
