TSA and period products

Question

Has anybody gone thru TSA with their menstrual cup and did they have to do an extra security check on you? I’ve never flown on my period before and I’m nervous that my cup will get flagged in the TSA scanner. Has anybody had experience with this?

If you’re really worried, you could reach out to TSA on Twitter. It’s a little on the embarrassing side in this situation, but if you make a post and @ the page asking if it’s safe to take something on the plane or not and they always respond. They may even have suggestions to keep it so that TSA won’t want to look. Hope this helps.
