Douching to help with UTI?

I had a UTI last month that never fully went away. I ended up in the ER due to the pain night before last… I was talking to my mom about it, and she told me to try douching to help? I was always told to not do that… so my question is, would it help? I mean at this point I’m desperate for relief because I’m sick of being on antibiotics. 🙄 (I’ve literally been on antibiotics basically nonstop for 3 months now for either pneumonia or UTI…)

No. You are pushing bacteria up inside when doing that. The best thing you can do is drink plenty of water, take your antibiotics and you can also do AZO

Never mind that a UTI would involve your bladder and urethra, not your vagina. 
Douching destroys your natural flora and could have the opposite effect, meaning you could be predisposed to another infection.
Talk to your doctor, if your symptoms never went away, it could be that the bacteria became resistant to the antibiotics and you need a different type

1. Douching is absolutely not healthy for your vagina. And will throw off your ph balance making it more susceptible for infection and yeast infections. 
2. Your uti has NOTHING to do with your vagina. The urethra and vagina are 2 different things. You don’t pee out of your vagina.

I recommend taking probiotic (does come in a pill form), drink plenty of water, take a teaspoon of “D-Mannose pure powder” in your water in the morning before your meal, a glass of unsweetened cranberry juice (comes in a pill form as well), and a pill of apple cider vinegar everyday.

I can’t get to all comments, but y’all… that’s exactly what I tried telling her. I was told not to ever. And I don’t see how it would help either. Meanwhile I did get some AZO pills to help alongside the antibiotics.

Douching is for your vagina? So idk how it would help a uti even if they were good for you? Medicine from the dr is your best option to cure a uti.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend that, you would just push the bacteria further inside of you making the uti worse
