How do you deal with big regret?

How do you stop it from eating you?

Regret is a hard pill to swallow. I have done things that have eaten me alive with regret for months. The only thing you can do is work through your emotions internally. Figure out why you made those choices and either realize you did them for a reason or you’ve made a mistake and learn from it. But you have to forgive yourself no matter what.

You made the choice that was right for you at the time. Whatever it was, it was the right choice for you. Focus on that.

Getting divorced will forever be my biggest regret.  It’s just something I have to learn to live with now.  And seeing how happy my ex is with his new girlfriend is hard but she is great with our son and the 3 of them seem genuinely happy and honestly they all deserve it.  So I just try to remind myself of that.
