What does everyone do for work ?

Interested to know what everyone does for work and how you fit it around your family life ?

Answer

I’m a project accountant working full time + commuting 3hrs/ day
Have 2 kids.
It is hard as I’m always tired and hubby works even longer hours.
My youngest starts school in Setember and I decided to go part time to actually have a family life.

Teacher. Summer breaks and holidays are great for family time. But the regular day to day during the school year is a grind. My husband and I both teach all day, then he coaches after school and I pick up the kids, we spend a couple hours with the kids (mostly dinner and getting ready for bed), then we both are back on our devices working until bed. Our Covid schedule was actually amazing - in person with students Mon-Thu and teacher work day on Fri. The kids had 3 days weekends and we had an entire day to just be in our rooms working. It was the most mentally healthy I have been in my decade of teaching. We’re back to a 5 day student week this fall and I will really miss not bringing home hours of work every day.

Administrator of a dental office 8-5 Monday-Thursday and one Friday a month…it’s very nice and convenient
