A positive post for anyone spotting/bleeding during pregnancy
I have been meaning to write this post from a while. I know how scary bleeding/spotting during pregnancy could be. I was there not long ago.
I was always nervous with my first pregnancy and everything turned out fine. So I had decided I was going to enjoy my second (and last) pregnancy. That's exactly what we were doing and we announced to our family at 7 weeks after we heard the heartbeat ❤️
Just a week after announcement, I went to the washroom and saw a big, red blood stain on my underwear. There was blood on toilet paper too and I started crying inconsolably. I called my husband to come home asap and we rushed to the ER.
Due to covid, he couldn't come in with me so I had be at the ER all alone while waiting for several hours (and bleeding) and crying while hiding my face. The bleeding was just like the start of the period.
The doctor called me in for an ultrasound and I could not stop crying as I was fearing seeing a lifeless baby on the screen.
I was shocked to the core when the technician told me the baby was looking all good. They found no reason for the bleed and told me I had a 50/50 chance of things to be ok.
I was still bleeding lightly when I went home. My family was telling me things would be alright but I told them to let me prepare for the worst !
I spotted up until next day. Then it became brown spotting. It continued for a few more days. When I was starting to be hopeful again, I saw a small red clot. It was brutal to see my hope getting shattered again!! But days went by and the spotting finally subsided after 2 weeks.
Things still looked fine on my midwifes visit.. and 10 months later, I'm holding that sweet, little 3 month old baby boy while he is napping in my arms.
Sorry for the long post. When I was bleeding, I was dying to see some positive posts. So here I am, writing this for anyone who is currently going through something similar.
Bleeding/spotting doesn't mean a miscarriage. Things could still turn out fine! Just take it one day at time and try to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can ❤️❤️
PS: after my Bleeding episode, I learned that both my sisters and my mom bled while pregnant and their pregnancies still continued fine!
