Am I in the wrong?

Question

My partner keeps wanting to stop and his cousins house. His family are very toxic, including his cousin. He’s changed and it’s not in a good way. 
I ask him not to stop as I have childhood trauma from being left alone and it gives me so much anxiety, I will not sleep. It always ends in an argument. 
He’s stopped there tonight even though he knows I won’t sleep and I have work early in the morning. No one understands how much it affects me. His family always call me stupid or something because of my paranoia of being left alone. 
My partners mum and I have both tried to tell him how toxic his family are, the family are from his mums side and even she barely has contact with them. 
Am I the one in the wrong? And advice?

You cant really tell people not to talk to their family regardless of how toxic they are. You have to decide if you are willing to deal with him having contact with them  since he has no interest in  cutting ties or break up.

You need to focus on healing yourself. You can’t expect someone to cut their family off, because you have bad trauma and anxiety. Him avoiding them, won’t cure it.

It’s not your place to make someone cut off their family. And your sleeping problem is pretty extreme, I would seek a therapist because I don’t think it’s a good thing that your boyfriend has to be home with you whenever you wanna go to sleep

I would advise on therapy for your trauma. You cannot change others but you can work on yourself to change how you react to others.
