Do you deliver packages to your home, when you’re not there?

I shop online like many others, and due to work, I’m not always home when a package gets dropped off. I try to get home ASAP, but sometimes that’s hours later. And I can check on them with my Ring, so I take the risk. My husband on the other hand does not think I should order anything. AT ALL. If I’m not home to receive it, and can’t get to the package right a way, or if for some reason it can’t be delivered to an access point. Do you Agree or disagree?

I does this all the time. If I so happen to have a package delivered and I’m not there, what I would do is have a family member to go get my package, since I know that they would be in the house. If you can’t get a hold of any family member, I would say a trusted neighbor. Some companies that does deliver like Amazon, would sometimes be mindful and actually deliver your package in a hidden spot and take a picture for only you to see where it’s at.

That’s why I got a P.O. Box. I order some very expensive high quality art paper that once was left out in the rain and ruined. Never again! I check it every week and my packages aren’t stolen either.

If it’s something particularly expensive and I am able I set up delivery to a UPS, FedEx, Amazon locket, etc instead of my house. But if it’s something that I wouldn’t die if it got swiped I just have it delivered to home.

Yea. If it’s something expensive I just have it delivered to my moms just cuz I live in an apartment complex and it’s more likely to get misdelivered.

Hmm they don’t just leave packages out front when you’re not there where I live. If you can’t receive it, they’ll take it to a drop-off point like the post office and you have to go pick it up. If this wasn’t the case, I definitely wouldn’t have things delivered if I wasn’t home

We request they drop off our packages on our back deck rather than the front porch so it’s not noticeable but we are very rural and no one is really around.

Uhhhh how am I supposed to know if I’m going to be home or not? I get a 3 day delivery window and that doesn’t usually include times. If I need something, I order it. If it’s stolen, I report it and get my money back.

I have more problems with delivery drivers dropping packages off at the wrong street or in the wrong town than ever losing or having a package stolen from my house. But I work from home so I can go get them ASAP, if they have actually been delivered like the notifications claim. I deliver to my in laws because packages always get stolen at my house but sometimes people aren’t there 🤷‍♀️ I usually try not to order if we are going to be out of town but sometimes I do since my in laws will be there but to be honest nothing has ever been stolen from their house (whether they are home or not and honestly with deliveries they never show up when exactly they say they will so I can’t imagine only ordering if I was there to receive it) and anyways when I ordered from my house and things were stolen the companies always resent my items with no fees (packages stolen from Walmart target and Amazon) but I just changed my address to my in laws anyways because they were still getting stolen even if it was replaced without costing me money it still isn’t right
