Am I being selfish?

Question

I’m 4 weeks pregnant with my first, and my partner wants to get pregnant too, at the same time (same sex couple). Am I selfish in wanting to enjoy being a first time mum, and wanting to wait before my partner tries later down the line? Currently my partner has a 10 year old child, which she still shares with her ex (as in, the father is still regularly involved).

I suggest that you wait because if you’re gonna be that big pregnant, you’re gonna need someone to help you get off the couch, tire shoes, you name it, and they’re not gonna be able to help because they’re gonna be just as pregnant. Definitely too at the same time you’ll both be miserable, no one will be able to help the other, and I can only imagine how much you guys will be fighting like cats and dogs with mood swings. It just sounds like a ticking time bomb really.

I think pregnancy will be kinda hard for both if you are pregnant at the same time (maybe even harder for you cause is your first pregnancy). You'll both be tired, specially at the end, i'm 30 weeks and somedays i feel exhausted even if i haven't done anything,  but my partner is always there to do the extra work when i need it. 
Even after pregnancy having to look after 2 newborns and a 10 year old kid, sounds difficult. There might even be a possibility that you stop paying too much attention to the older kid because babies are too demanding, and you would be having 2 and eventually at least one of you will have to go back to work.

No I would feel the same way your partner is there to be supportive and comfort you and if she’s pregnant she is going to be right along with you. Moody, throwing up, tried etc.
