IS THIS ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR?

My dad told my mom to “shut the f**k up” in front of my little brother who is 11 and me during a family card game. We got in a bit of an argument over rules, and everyone was chiming in and then he yelled at my mom to “stfu”. It was not in a nice or joking tone whatsoever. Is this considered abusive behavior?

Abusive is generally ongoing. If it were a one off, I'd consider it a red flag but wouldn't automatically label him as abusive.
Does he have a history of acting like this?

I think he’s an asshole for it but I don’t think it’s abusive

Does he control her or continue to talk like that throughout the relationship?

As long as this isn’t an often type of behavior for him, I’d say no. They could be in an argument that you aren’t aware of and that was him being annoyed/built up aggravation. 
You can always talk to your mother or father about this to make them aware of how it seems. They shouldn’t be losing temper like this, but it happens from time to time I suppose.
