Crib Bumpers?

Question

Are they safe? My child is 13 months old and as she's getting more active, she is always banging her head of her feet or her arms against the side of the wooden crib. Or her limbs will get stuck in between the slats of the crib. And she cries! 
Would a braided crib bumper be safe? Comment please and give reasons if you can.

I'd skip it all together because the likelihood of the baby injuring himself by hitting/bumping his head on the crib is unlikely whereas suffocating would be more likely, but still rare. We had them for looks and never used them.

No. They are not recommended. Blankets, stuffed animals, etc are only recommended as they get older (once transitioned into toddler bed). In theory, your child is able to move and hold their head up, but the concern is entanglement, strangulation or suffocation. So no. They are not safe. My son is 17 months and is a wild sleeper. His legs and arms sometimes end up between the slats. But he is able to get his limbs back in. In Canada they are not approved and should not be used. Can't speak for other areas of the world.

NOTHING is to be in the crib with baby. All bumpers are very unsafe. Mesh ones included.

Bumpers aren’t safe. Mesh ones included. Your kid may bonk their head or stick a limb out, and then they figure it out. I’d rather a bump than a suffocated baby 🤷🏼‍♀️

They have breathable mesh bumpers you can buy that are safe I used them when my son was a baby up until he was no longer in his crib
