Conquering Fears
I knew motherhood would come with a lot of new experiences, but one I was not expecting was conquering my fear of...spiders. I have always been afraid of spiders, with reactions ranging from screaming to leaving the room to feeling my skin crawl upon sight. Granted my skin still crawls when I see a spider, but now that I have a baby I don't want the spider to get anywhere near him or worse, bite him. Rather than waiting for someone else to take care of it or just walking away, I have started doing it myself. I have probably killed more spiders in the last 5 months of motherhood than I have in my entire life 😅 I still have to give myself a pep talk and work up the courage first, but those protective mama instincts have definitely helped. Anyone else using those protective parent instincts to face a fear? Share your story if you've got one...and kudos to all of us for overcoming fears because it isn't always easy 👏👏👏
