Both breasts??

Question

So. Everyone keeps telling me she needs to nurse from both sides, but she eats from one and acts full! She’s 13 weeks and each side can produce around 6 oz per feed when I pump. Could she really maybe just be full? She eats 8-10 times per day still like this and is really long but doesn’t have hardly any rolls.

Both breasts is not a requirement. If baby is gain weight well only ever taking 1 breast than there is no reason to change. 
I always offer the second breast. My first always took both sides. My second seems to do 50/50. 
Just make sure if you use one breast you’re alternating and if for some reason babe takes both occasionally remember to start on the side you ended on.

If she is fine with one side, one side is totally fine. My three were all fine with one side at a time. Sometimes during cluster-feeding I would need to offer both, but that was it.

Just offer both. Both my kids only nursed on one side at a time when they were in their first few months. As they got older they wanted both, but sometimes would act fine after the one and so I wouldn’t have known they were still hungry unless I had offered the other one.

My heavy duty chunks always emptied both breasts but I remember the lactation consultant in the hospital telling me with my first that some babies only take one breast per feeding and that was ok if he did. She just said if he took one breast to make sure to alternate breasts for every feeding to combat slacker boob and to make sure baby doesn't prefer one breast over the other.

As long as she's having 6-8 wet nappies, gaining weight and appears happy after a feed, I'd say she's probably just full!
