So my boyfriend and I stayed at a hotel for 2 nights. Our maid never came in to clean because we kept the do not disturb sign on the door. There was a tip envelope on the table so I wanted to leave $3 (it was the only cash I had left). My boyfriend insisted that I not leave the tip because he wanted to get a pop from the vending machine on the way out. I told him he has enough quarters left to get a pop and I was going to take us to McDonald’s anyway to get pop and he still insisted I not leave a tip. I told him it’s my money and I’m going to do what I want with it. He claims that she didn’t do a good job cleaning the room when we came in (not true, he’s just a clean freak) and that she didn’t have to clean for us during our stay so we shouldn’t leave a tip. He then said we will end up needing the $3 because we don’t have much money. I want to add that it’s MY money, I paid for our entire stay, and he should let me do what I want with MY money. He was speaking loudly at me saying I’m not leaving a tip. Would you be upset?
