Anyone get pregnant less than a year after c-section?

Question

2 doctors in the same health network recommend I wait 12 months post c-section to even get pregnant again (currently 9 months postpartum). Then they said If I didn’t wait the full 12-18 months it wouldn’t be unsafe.... 
Has anyone else ever received this advice and not taken it? Interested to hear your story. 
How did you find a supportive provider? 
Did you plan a VBAC? Were you successful?

We are personally waiting to try for another till I'm 1 year pp which will be Jan. 2022. I'm salty af about my first being emergency c-section. I went zero medication. I'm going to have my all natural birth I hope with a second. And if second is another girl, I'll have one more shot at a natural birth. (We want a boy, and I'm willing to till the 3rd then no more.) So my fingers are crossed tight for VBAC.

I got pregnant 9 months pp after my c section. My doctors didn’t raise any concerns. I’m having another c section (this Wednesday) but that’s only because this is my third.
