High Risk!!! Subchorionic hematoma, bicornuate uterus and velamentous cord!

Emma

So around 7-8 weeks pregnant I woke up early in the morning thinking I just had to pee. Well when I went to the bathroom, I started gushing blood! I was petrified! Called for an ambulance and went to the ER. Baby’s heart rate was present and fine. He was actually wiggling lol! Went to an emergency appointment to my ob within the next couple of days and they told me I had a subchorionic hematoma and a bicornuate uterus. I bled for roughly 3.5 months. Luckily, that stopped around 19 weeks. Then at my anatomy scan (which was at 19 weeks) I was told that I have a velamentous umbilical cord. I was curious to know if there are any of you pretty ladies who have had or currently have a velamentous cord and/or a bicornuate uterus and what were/ have been your experience. I’m very nervous I will have to be induced very early or have a c-section due to little man not having enough room to turn head down. Currently 24w 2d. He moves and kicks a ton. Somersaults and all 🤣 thanks in advance!

I had a subchorionic hematoma and a baby with velementous cord insertion. I had heavy bleeding for about 10 weeks, but it cleared up around 18 weeks. I recommend resting as much as possible. Even if you’re not put on bed rest, I would stop exercising, and even walking/standing where possible. I think that’s what helped mine to eventually go away. My baby’s growth was monitored regularly - that is important with VCI. But she ended up developing IUGR and I had a c-section once this was picked up, around 37 weeks. She was fine, just a bit small. Good luck with everything.

I have a bicornuate uterus. My first pregnancy I miscarried at 17+1 due to pprom(had nothing to do with my uterus). But with this pregnancy I had a large sub chorionic hemorrhage and one small one. I bled from week 5-15. For about a week that bleeding was heavy with clots(like a bad period). They went away somewhere between week 22-24. I was already getting monitored weekly because of my previous loss. But baby is 6 weeks today. I did have to have an emergency csection tho but that was only because his heart started dropping fast. Also a little side note—my baby was pressed up against the septum in my uterus so when he came out his nose looked like it was crooked. It’s slowly fixed itself now tho. Here’s some pictures to show his nose. 😂
