Hysteroscopy or saline sonogram?

Hi all! I am currently in my egg retrieval cycle and my doctor wanted to do a hysteroscopy while I’m under for my retrieval as a precaution. Has anyone had this done and is it necessary?
It’s not covered by my insurance and is quite expensive. He said I could do a saline sonogram instead next month before the transfer which would be cheaper. I want to do whatever is best of course. Anyone have experience with either and were they necessary?

What’s his reasoning? I had one but not during my ivf cycle. It was part of the pre-ivf work up to make sure all was fine after child birth (my son was a fresh ivf transfer in 2019)

I think I had a saline sonogram a month or two before retrieval. So they can see no polyps or anything that might disrupt a transfer.

I did a saline sonogram about a month before my transfer to be sure all was good and clear for transfer.
