Engaged! Destination wedding advice?

My handsome man of 1.5 years proposed on a family vacation last week and I am so excited to marry my best friend. If you’ve seen my previous posts you know I have a complicated past that made me hesitant to make this decision earlier… but I worked through that and I can confidently say that I’m making a good decision. I feel so much peace knowing that I’m choosing him as my life partner.

Now - we want to plan a wedding in Mexico for the spring of 2023. I’m looking for whatever advice or experience anyone has related to the matter. We live in an expensive metropolis and the majority of our guests would have to travel anyways if we got married at home - so we figure it’s not any more expensive for them to travel to MX. I know it will limit a lot of guests because of the logistics. I’m ok with that. I think there will be other opportunities for loved ones to participate in weddings activities if they want.

Also, this will be my second marriage. I’ve done the more traditional wedding route before and am familiar with the pros and cons of that choice.
