Do you have to out right disclose you have HSV-1/Cold Sores when getting to know someone or is that just a common thing where everyone already knows/ understands that you don’t kiss, share things or perform sexual oral acts with a cold sore outbreak?

Side Note: I can’t even remember the last time I had a cold sore outbreak. Maybe when I was in high school?? But nothing since my adulthood. Just got told by my doctor I probably got it when I was a child and just never been tested til now. I’ve never given any of my partners oral with a cold sore or sore in general. They’ve never been diagnosed with genital herpes either even though I never knew I already had it.

Just curious what’s everyone’s take on this?
