Is masturbation a sin?

Im a single 18 yr old and a virgin. I haven’t masturbated but I’ve felt around down there so I was familiar with my body. On this app, I have see some things about masturbating. My first guess is that it is sinful, because God design those sensations for a husband and wife. 
On a related note, I was also wondering if it’s a sin to masturbate after your married?

1 Corinthians 6:18 says "Run away from sexual immorality [in any form, whether thought or behavior, whether visual or written]. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the one who is sexually immoral sins against his own body."
I used to struggle with masturbation and pornography sometimes back. It was a real struggle my dear. Just like a person can be addicted to drugs, I was addicted to pornography and masturbation.
I was introduced to pornography by those who lived around me at the time. I was 6 or 7 I guess. I'd masturbate almost every night before going to bed with my finger, pillow... I'd touch myself. I'd go online to search for images just to see naked people having sex. Whenever I looked on those things, it would Trigger something in the inside of me and I would start to masturbate. Things like moaning sounds also Trigger it.
It became worse. I desired unusual and abnormal things. Such as rape (because I was a virgin and I had never been touched before), I desired to be raped many times, I desired forceful sex, rough sex... all kinds of demonic things.
Keep in mind that I was a Christian, born into Christianity. My dad was a pastor but all these things were still happening. I would always daydream about sex, all I wanted and desired was sex. I just wanted to get to my room and just pleasure myself by masturbating. 
But whenever I was done masturbating and watching pornography, I always felt great guilt afterwards. I knew I was committing a sin but I couldn't help myself. I would always ask God for forgiveness but would still do it later again and again 
I kept growing like that. I wasn't happy with myself but I enjoyed what I was doing. Pornography damages you thoughts, imaginations... it leave a very negative and destructive impact on you and on your mind.
So your question, 'is masturbation a sin'? My dear, truth be told, masturbation is a SIN. People would tell you it isn't, that it's fine and normal. That's what the devil wants us to think so that He can destroy our lives. 
Most people feel bad after they are don't masturbating and watch pornography or even indulging in any form of sexual sin. That is the convicting power of the Holy Ghost. He let's us know but convicting us of sin through that feeling, that what you're doing is wrong.
But some people don't feel convicted because they have ignored that feeling so much to the point where their conscience have died.
Sexual sin is sin against one own body that why I always felt so bad and guilty whenever I masturbated.
But now I'm free! Jesus has set me free! I'm free indeed! I still a virgin and I no longer watch pornography nor masturbate.
To get rid of sexual thoughts, pray to God, be very open with God(He knows all things, so you can't hide anything from Him). Tell Him how you feel. If you feel tempted or pressured to have sex or masturbated or to do anything immoral, just talk to God IMMEDIATELY! Don't tell Him later but right away and also tell Him to help you. And He will.

You should not masturbate after marriage because when you do, your attention will be shifted from your spouse. And that can become a really big issue in your marriage because at some point you will begin to feel like your spouse cannot satisfy your sexual needs, then you start to masturbate more often to satisfy your sexual urges and needs by yourself instead of desiring your husband. 
Masturbation before and after marriage is a SIN! If you ask married couples whose spouses indulge in masturbation, they will tell you the real truth. They feel like their spouses aren't attracted to them sexually anymore. And such homes are never a happy one and probably will never last.
If you really want to hear the truth, even if it may be bitter or you don't like it, I'm advising you as a Christian sister, please, don't indulge in this sin called 'masturbation'. Whether before, after or during marriage. Masturbation almost destroyed my life. This sin destroys! Please, take your mind off it. Ask God to help you.

I was say no. I am a pastors son. I grew up in the faith but don’t hold to everything my parents believe. First I would say the Bible actually says nothing on masturbation specifically but rather lust. Remember the verse put of the heart the mouth speaks. Actions show your heart. So some would say masturbation is and outpouring of this. I would say yes and no. I understand both sides and I have lived both sides. I have struggled with porn and masturbation since I was 8 but as an addiction. I’m not 22 and my wife and I take care of each other. I have a medical condition where I need to ejaculate or it become extremely painful to the point of tears. The pressure is built up due to swelling or kinks that would require surgery I can’t afford. During and before my marriage I practiced sex with my wife and I do not believe that was a sin either because I found a wife not a girlfriend. My wife helps me with photos and helps me whether I’m alone or with her. I hope this helps a little and if you have questions please feel free to message me.

I personally don’t think the act of masturbation is a sin, but the lust and fantasizing about someone else is. Some can masturbate without imagining what they would want to be going on with someone else and others can’t.  As for after marriage, I believe it depends on each couple. You never want to take away from your spouse and/or have them feel as if you’d rather do that than have sex with them. Some couples are separated for periods of time due to work or other obligations so I believe masturbation could be used to keep them close during these times by pictures of each other or talking to each other during the act. 
As with everything in this, I believe praying about it is always the best option. If you’ve gone this long without and it and don’t feel a strong need, then likely best not to start now. However if it’s becoming an all consuming thought and need, it may be a good outlet for you and prevent premarital sex, if that is what your goal is.
