Should I get a lawyer?

I’m currently 6 months pregnant and me and my baby’s father are currently together but we’re having problems… if we end up breaking up he’s threatening to take me to court for sole custody of the baby. What should I do? I don’t want to keep his child away from him he can see/spend as much time as he wants with her but I want her to live with me

lol dont let him scare you. it is so highly unlikely they will even consider taking your baby (as long as your not a drug addict or abusive). they probably wouldnt even allow him to keep the baby overnight for the whole first year

If he is threatening about custody and y’all are together I personally would see this as a reason for the relationship to end.

My ex used to do this crap with me all the time lol! Dam fool! Ok 1st thing is 1st… he can threaten you all he wants.. at the end of the day if you are not a danger to the baby or yourself no judge is going to grant an unwed father sole custody just because he wants it.
Be smart. You aren’t married .. give that baby your last name and if he is that awful don’t put his name on the BC.. not saying that a judge won’t order you to add it one later but the more hoops he has to jump through the more settled you’ll feel about this situation. If he isn’t a bad guy and you guys just didn’t work out and he ends up being a great dad he is going to have just as many right as you.. so don’t get too cozy with the idea that he can’t take the baby without you because a judge doesn’t like to ply those kind of games.
