Do you support child pageants?

I don’t know much about them. But they always made me feel uncomfortable. Dressing up little kids like adults. Making them perform. Just isn’t for me.

I did them as a kid, but I was older (started at around 7), and the ones I did had strict no makeup policies, so there wasn’t that creepy toddlers in tiaras element to it. I learned how to speak in front of people and it have me a competitive outlet as a very non-athletic child. A lot of them are sleazy but if a kid’s got parents with a good head on their shoulders I think it can be a fun thing for them to do.

I think they could be cool, if they were done differently. 
Something about adult makeup on a child is just a bit too weird for me tbh. I wouldn't stop someone doing this, but I have mixed feelings & wouldn't support these events. I think causing kids to focus so much on looks could have a bad effect. On the other hand, the talent and showmanship as well as making friends are all healthy aspects of pagents- so they have helped some people develop useful skills & confidence... so they have potential.

i think pageants are okay, they’re kids, they love dressing up and some love preforming. i do not agree with it being on TV, making a show out of it, or if parents make their kids do it. i believe they should be old enough to understand what they’re doing and agree to it

I was in one at 7, the whole experience was really fun and I got to gain confidence and learn how to not be a sore loser. As long as everyone isn’t taking it too seriously it’s not bad, we weren’t judged on appearances or anything

I clicked the wrong one! Child pageants are a nightmare especially since most parents are trying desperately to live through their children and are in some situations mentally and verbally abused if the children don’t go along with it.

I mean, I wouldn't put my children in one, but I don't think they should be banned or anything.
