Transfer 1 vs 2 embryos?

Hi, ladies! I hope you’re all doing well during this difficult journey. 
We just had a failed FET cycle and we are now preparing for our second cycle with today as my day 1. 
We have a 4-year-old daughter, who at this point will be at least 5 by the time we have another baby. I am SUPER torn on choosing to transfer 1 embryo vs 2. My doctor said with my health and age, transferring 2 would just increase the chances of having twins rather than increasing my chances of a successful pregnancy. 
With the first one failing, I am now even more torn… We would be totally fine (it’d be hard, no doubt) if we had twins. I worry about how it would affect my daughter (she LOVES babies, but that would surely be a huge shock for her). On the other hand, she would be an amazing “helper” and big sister. The younger two would have each other when my older one leaves for college and stuff… 
What did you decide? Experiences? Age gaps? My daughter loves other kids and craves to be around others. I just don’t know what’s best!

They don’t discourage 2 embryos because they think you can’t handle it.  They discourage 2 embryos because twin pregnancies are high risk from day one.  I didn’t transfers 2 embryos until I had 3 failed singleton transfers.  I’m now pregnant with twins and very nervous about it.

My dr will only allow 1 at a time transfer for my age and health. Everything is all normal and I'm 28. She is more worried about the embryos multiplying during implant. She doesn't want me have like 3 or 4 babies at once.  
I would go off of what your doctor recommends

We had male factor & waited 6yrs. We had 5 embryos total. We transferred two. Went in knowing we would. Wasn’t sure of the full outcome, but I’ll be 35 in Sept & our oldest is 12(previous rel’p). I am currently pregnant with twins but we are okay with that. I am having a pretty good pregnancy thus far & have been taking care of myself and taking prenatals & Vit D. You have to know what you can handle.

My first transfer was successful and resulted in my now 2 year old. I had to do another retrieval to try for -#2. Transferred 1 embryo in April, it was a success initially but unfortunately had an early miscarriage before we saw a heartbeat. Our embryos are not PGS tested. We assume it was most likely a genetic issue. Transferred 1 embryo again last month and so far it’s a success again… although very early. I’ll be 7w Thursday. I did see the flicker of a heartbeat last week. I was really considering transferring 2 after my miscarriage. But I didn’t get as far as talking to the Dr. about it. My husband was against it. He was right. After the initial shock of my failed cycle subsided, I had agreed to try 1 again. (We had 9 more frozen) As much as I would love twins, the risks do scare me, especially the further you get. Of course people have twin pregnancies all of the time with no issues! There’s just no way to know. I had a pretty great pregnancy with my daughter, but I did have a large SCH in the beginning and I didn’t enjoy my pregnancy until well into the second tri because of it. It was incredible scary and stressful for awhile and IVF increases the risk of SCH. Then towards the end I developed  gestational hypertension. I personally took this into consideration because it’s what happened to me.  So we decided that if this transfer didn’t work, then we would discuss transferring 2 but my husband isn’t completely set on it.. we would want to speak with the Dr. first… fingers crossed we won’t need to🤍🤞🏻 I know how you’re feeling.
