Keto diet while breastfeeding? Taking ketones while breastfeeding. Yes/no?

Wondering if any mamas have eaten a ketogenic or even just low carb diet while breastfeeding? Also if any moms have taken ketones during that period. I am just asking because there’s not a ton of research out there for pros/cons.

Keto is not meant for the average person. It’s not sustainable, good for you or beneficial to you unless you’re chronically ill and need this type of intense diet. 
You need carbohydrates. Fad dieting isn’t not good for you.

UNLESS guided by a trained professional like a dietician or nutritionist, I would suggest you wait until you're done breastfeeding before going on any sort of diet plan. I'm pretty sure you'll still create healthy breast milk for baby but you'll be leeching any deficient nutrients from your own body and possibly bones to supplement what you don't get through food. THAT is what I would be worried about for you. Breastfeeding itself burns loads of calories already, if that's why you want to do it. If it's because you were instructed to do so for your health then talk with your doctor about breastfeeding and if it's compatible with your treatment plan.

It's a really terrible idea for a plethora of reasons. 
Keto isn't sustainable, nor is it healthy for you...let alone an infant who really need the nutrients that are translated into balanced breastmilk from you. 
I would get with a nutritionist and learn how to eat properly. It's a skill that is, frankly, invaluable and that you will use for your entire life. These "fad type" diets are always bad news for your health and waistline long term. 
As an addendum...I saw another post say that breastfeeding burns 600-1000 calories and whilst I hate correcting people publicly, I would be doing you a complete disservice by not doing so. It is a common myth that BF burns this ungodly amount of calories and that you can loose weight whilst eating more if you BF. It was propagated by those who needed an extra benefit in order to push the agenda. The average woman, of average age in this circumstance burns about 100-150 calories extra per day. While 600 certainly is possible, it is extrordinarliy unlikely and to burn a full 1000? You would be more likley to win Powerball.

Breastfeeding burns 600-1000 calories a day, so if you stayed at the recommended calorie intake for a woman in general you will be in a calorie deficit and thus lose weight. 
Restricting calories is fine, but I personally wouldn't restrict certain food groups. Your body will make enough milk for baby, and it will make sure your milk is complete for baby regardless of what you put into your body. So if you are missing a food group, you could be doing yourself a huge disservice and potentially make yourself ill, at the very least you could feel shit through lack of energy due to your nutrition. 
In short, your milk quality will stay the same, tailored to baby's needs. But you could potentially get into a pickle with your own nutrition. A balanced diet with a slight restriction on calories coupled with exercise like weight training would be ideal during breastfeeding.
