Induction in the Morning! Any Advice?

Hello Mommas💛 My induction is tomorrow morning & we have to arrive by 6:45am. I am excited yet, very nervous with this being my first baby. For anyone who has been induced (electively or due to medical reasons) have any advice for tomorrow on what to expect☺️ I chose to have an elective induction due to my little girls size and OB’s scheduling. As of my appointment on Wednesday, I am dilated to 2cm and 70% effaced☺️ Any advice would be helpful!

I was induced for medical reasons… it wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be with pitocin. They very gradually went up on the dose. Started low at 2. I tried to rest during early contractions to keep my strength up for later. Sat on a yoga ball and did little circular motions. Had a monitor which allowed me to get out of bed and move around. It wasn’t bad but 8 hours later they suggested an artificial rupture of membranes and 15 min later everything kicked off and it was go time! Once contractions were strong I did a little slow dance with my husband and sort of groaned as the contractions crested. I stood in the shower for a bit (they covered my iv with a plastic sleeve ) but had to get out as I started feeling the need to push… I then felt the huge urge to start pushing and they checked and said ok but can you wait for the midwife —who got there very fast —and a few pushes later baby was out!
I think it went fast because it was 2nd baby and no epidural. My doula warned me that point you get to where you can’t stand the pain and ask for the epidural is the point that you’re often almost done and ready to push—she was right! I used the Gentle Birth app breathing exercises at some points too. It’s important to relax, breath and know you’ve got this!

I’ve been induced twice, once I was having contractions on my own so only cervical ripening was necessary. Second time no contractions so did pitocin. Pitocin contractions are noticeably worse- I got an epidural for both but needed it more with the pitocin. Epidural didn’t work with my first; the contractions were not the worst part. But it worked really well with my second and I actually got to somewhat enjoy the delivery and I feel like I recovered much more quickly.
