Possible Miscarriage?

Hi all. This is my third pregnancy. I’ve never had any problems or miscarriages before…

I am 5 weeks (& 2 days) along and began with some brown looking spotting last night. Today over the course of the day it’s turned into full fledged bleeding. And cramping - but I’ve had cramping for a month now.

I’m not soaking pads, but it looks like a period. Red (dark) blood and all. No clotting, or fetal tissue as of now. I went to the ER tonight and since I’m so early on - while they saw the baby -

it is too little to place a heartbeat. My hormone levels aren’t high enough yet either, so I will be getting a blood test again on Monday. So it looks like this can go either way. Has this happened to anyone else? How did it turn out for you?
