So I'm going on a first date today and the restaurant dress code is “smart casual or elegant attire, no open sandals or shorts at any time”

So I'm used to wearing slippers and I can't wear heels or anything cuz I'm having flat feet and it hurts

So I'm planning to wear this sandal with a modest but fancy dress that covers my whole body, do you think that it's allowed? I know it might be a silly question but I have never been to a fine dining restaurant

And can you suggest to me a light but nice wine or drink from this menu, please (lightest thing because I'm going to drive today!!)
