Climbing everything and not staying in bed! 🥺
My kiddo figured out how to climb out of her crib this past week, and refuses to sleep in her own room when she wakes up in the middle of the night, and will only sleep in our bed (something we haven't done before as she's always been a good 12-hour straight, no issues, sleeper). She has also skipped naps at daycare (she has been going 2 days per week, and has never napped great there, but now isn't sleeping at all) the past two weeks, but definitely still needs them as she is wiped and emotional when she comes home (but still fights bedtime). We converted her crib to a toddler bed last night as she just kept climbing out. She slept for a few hours but then woke up again and only would sleep in our bed. Nap time today, she climbed her dresser and fell off (she's ok), but I'm worried about her falling and not being ok. We turned the dresser around so she couldn't climb the knobs, but then she climbed in the reading chair and across her diaper pail to get on to the dresser. I feel like there's nothing safe to have in her room anymore, and she's just screaming about sleeping in her room. We've never dealt with any sleeping issues like this before with her. Nothing new in her routines or life to explain it. Is there a developmental explanation? Fear of missing out? Wanting to be close to mom and dad? Anyone dealing with anything similar or have any suggestions?? I'm at a loss as to what to do, or how to get her to sleep.
