Makeup Newbie

I’m a senior in high school and want to start getting in to learning to do my makeup. I never wore makeup much and never got to really explore it because i wasn’t really close with my mom growing up and she didn’t teach me things like this. So i’ve just never wore any or sometimes i wear foundation and mascara to make myself look a little better.

I’m overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. I’m just looking for your favorite makeup products and what products you would suggest for me. I like to look natural and just looking for the basics like best foundation, mascara, eyeshadow pallets, etc.

I have a mix of oily and dry skin so what foundation is best for that? I’m not good with eyeshadow and don’t know how to apply it well so looking for tips on that also?
